Frequently asked questions

What is Your Metronome?

Your Metronome (listed on the App Store as Your Metronome: Rhythm Trainer) is a practice metronome app for iPhone, made by acer8160. The metronome itself is free, and tapping “Cleared” logs the tempo you reached that day, so your daily bests build up on a graph.

What do I get for free?

The 30–300 BPM metronome, per-beat note values, odd and compound meters, voice count, the daily BPM graph, practice notes, and up to 3 presets are all free. Tempo Trainer, practice streaks with goal-ETA forecasting, and unlimited presets are part of Your Metronome Pro, available monthly or annually.

Does it support odd and compound time signatures?

Yes. Alongside simple meters such as 4/4 and 3/4, you can set compound meters like 6/8 and 12/8, and odd meters like 5/8 and 7/8 (2+2+3).

Can I change the subdivision for each beat?

Yes. Press and hold a beat to go from quarter to eighth to sixteenth notes, and use the note picker to set triplets or mixed values on a per-beat basis.

Does it keep a record of my practice?

Tap the “Cleared” button to log the tempo you reached that day, and your daily best BPM builds up on a graph. You can also save practice notes for each song.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

Neither. All data is stored on your device.

Is there an Android version?

Not at the moment — Your Metronome is available for iPhone only, on iOS 15.1 or later.
